Status: The Compliance Audit Committee ordered an audit of Peter Li Preti’s campaign. Li Preti appealed the order for an audit to the Ontario Court of Justice. In November 2012, the appeal was heard; Justice McLeod is expected to issue his decision on or before January 15, 2013.
Fair Elections Toronto’s allegations against Peter Li Preti include the following contraventions of the Municipal Elections Act:
- Accepting up to 32 corporate donations, which is prohibited by a combination of the City of Toronto’s by-law 1177-2009 and section 71 of the Act; and
- Filing an incorrect financial statement.
